PROGRAMME FULL ACCREDITATION
Full Accreditation (FA) is to reaffirm that the teaching, learning and all other related activities of a programme provided by the Universities or Higher Education Providers (Pemberi Pendidikan Tinggi (PPT)) have met the quality standards in compliance with the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).
The PPT or universities will seek to secure this approval before the first cohort of students for each programme graduates. Upon full accreditation, all programme will be listed in the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR) to ensured that the programme have gone through the quality assurance process either by MQA or a recognised body. It is meant to provide students, parents, employers, funding agencies and other related stakeholders, both domestic and international, with the necessary information about accredited qualifications in Malaysia. MQR is the national reference point for qualifications in Malaysia and is also referenced in UNESCO’s portal of higher education. The MQR is accessible via the following link: www.mqa.gov.my/mqr.
There are two (2) types of accreditation process which are [1] Swa Accreditation / Self-Accreditation and [2] Professional Body Accreditation.

Swa Accreditation / Self-Accreditation is a status granted by MQA to universities which are confirmed to have robust internal quality assurance system. MQA empowers Senate of the universities with self-accreditation status to accredit their own programmes on the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) and relevant standards, as well as policies of MQA and the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). The Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Unit under the Institute of Quality and Knowledge Advancement (InQKA) was formally established in March 2017 whereby the establishment of IQA was in line with the conferment of Self-Accreditation status to UiTM on 2nd January 2017. The IQA is responsible for ensuring that the quality of UiTM's academic programmes become more robust, meeting the MQF and standards requirements, and enables accreditation.

A professionally accredited programme is normally one that has been approved by a professional body. Accredited programmes are often developed and aligned with the professional body’s own qualification(s) and with MQA standards. It is a clear sign that the programme is relevant and up-to-date within a specific sector or field.
