The UiTM Council of Professors was constituted with the blessing of the Vice Chancellor on 20th March 2007. The main objective of the formation of the council includes:

• Increasing scholarly activities in all aspects of teaching and learning.
• Intensifying and boosting research activities.
• Increasing publications in high impact journals, hence increasing the citation index.

A Professor chairs the council by the appointment of the Vice Chancellor on rotational basis. The list of chairpersons are as follows:

Members of the UiTM Council of Professors Committee are appointed by the Vice Chancellor of UiTM via recommendation by the Council Chairman and approval by the University Executive Council (MEU). The term of appointment as Committee Member of the UiTM Council of Professors is for a maximum period of two (2) years.

 
Job and Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the committee includes:

• Contribute input of expertise in terms of academics and professionalism in various fields, for the use of public advocacy, especially in strengthening the basis of university policy formulation, national policy and the implementation of planned programs.
• Provide contributions in the form of advisory services and the latest ideas for the progress of industry, society, universities and countries in various fields at the national and international levels.
• Undertaking the role of trustee, generator and communicator of renowned knowledge.
• Contribute ideas and advisory services for the strengthening of UiTM's strategic direction regarding the Academic, Research and Innovation components as well as UiTM's External Relations.
• Assist in the transformation of UiTM to become a global university in the fields of Science, Technology, Humanities and Entrepreneurship.
