VISION, MISSION & OBJECTIVES
The Office of The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) oversees the academic governance, management and operations of UiTM in line with the objectives of higher education set by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. It plays a leading role in the academic development of UiTM. Its main objectives include:
- to be current with the requirements and standards of professionalism in the world of academia;
- to be involved in various academic-related activities such as research, innovations in teaching and learning and publications;
- to manage academic processes and procedures;
- to provide directions for academic developments;
- to regulate academic systems and policies;
- to ensure and assure the quality of academic assessments; and
- to monitor academic standards.

Management of the university curricula;

Providing consultation for programme development of all faculties / branch campuses

Facilitating the accreditation of programmes by government agencies, national and international professional bodies;

Ensuring all forms of assessments are valid, reliable, fair and consistent;

Formulating and disseminating information on academic policies, regulations and procedures;

Ensuring compliance of all to academic policies, regulations and procedures;

Standardising academic systems and processes throughout the UiTM network nationwide;

Monitoring of computerised academic management systems;

Consolidation of academic information;

Monitoring of academic processes and operations;

Planning and implementing academic development;

Monitoring of lecturer professionalism and student feedback;

Overseeing the implementation of academic policies;

Spearheading and initiating academic programmes for all faculties;

Managing academic appointments;
-
Providing provisions for lifelong learning;

Providing training, planning and management for continuous holistic staff improvement and succession planning;

Providing a platform for online learning; and
-
Leading the university towards internationalisation.
1. Ensuring the decisions of the UiTM Senate Meeting, UiTM General Trust Account
Committee Meeting and Educational Excellence Fund Trust Account Meeting UiTM
issued to the office/department/applicant related within 14 working days.
2. Process Student Appeal Applications from the date of the letter and Complete
Supporting documents are received within 7 days work.
3. Process complaints received from the ICT Units Complaint System, email, phone calls
and other communication mediums in period of 7 working days.
4. Process the application for Academic Appointment by Faculty/Branch/PTJ within 14
working days.
