Lecturer’s Professionalism Monitoring (PRO-PENS) is the University’s mechanism for all faculties, academic centers and campuses to self monitor the teaching activities and professionalism of academic staffs. The primary objectives of PRO-PENS are as follows:
- To monitor the quality of teaching and learning (T&L) environment of various academic programmes
- To monitor that values of integrity, ethics and professional are upheld amongst academic staffs
The two (2) monitoring aspects of PRO-PENS include:
1. Teaching Quality:
Teaching delivery, student-lecturer engagement in class, communication
2. Lecturer Professionalism: Presence, punctuality, dress code, use of English (except for Islamic and Third language courses)
The expected outcomes of PRO-PENS are as follows:
- Improve the level of awareness on the value of academic integrity and staff professionalism
- Enhance the quality of teaching and learning
- Facilitate the University in producing high quality human capital
