The process for the Award of Professor Emeritus is governed by the Assessment Committee for the Award of Professor Emeritus (Jawatankuasa Penilaian Lantikan Penganugerahan Profesor Emeritus (JKPPE)).

• Authority: The JKPPE was formally mandated by the 318th University Senate on May 9, 2025.
• Responsibility: The committee is tasked with a comprehensive and holistic evaluation of each nominee. This includes scrutinizing their academic impact, scholarly leadership, and the legacy of their distinguished service throughout their tenure at the university.
